What To Expect

General Observations

We welcome visitors to Hope Hall and try our best to make you feel welcome and at ease. When you arrive you will be given a hymnbook and shown to a seat in the main hall where the services take place.

Our services are organised by the elders of the church with different men from the church leading, praying, teaching and preaching ( 1 Corinthians 14:34-35 and 1 Timothy 2:11-15). There is no single pastor or minister at Hope Hall.

The members of the church observe the Biblical teaching on headship which is symbolised by men not having their heads covered and women covering their heads during our services (1 Corinthians 11:1-16).

We tend to stand to sing as a congregation and have piano accompaniment.

There will usually be approximately 40 people in attendance, with an age range extending from babies to senior citizens.

There is no dress code at Hope Hall.

Sunday 10.30 - 11.30

As a church we gather together to remember the Lord Jesus Christ every Sunday. We share bread and wine in accordance with the request of the Lord Jesus Christ and subsequent instruction of 1 Corinthians 11:17-34. This remembrance is called the Lord's Supper.

There is no fixed format to the service although we usually sing, pray and read the Bible before and after we share the bread and wine. The central purpose of the service is the remembrance of our Lord Jesus Christ in the Lord's supper.

Participation in the Lord's supper at Hope Hall is for Christians in our church and those who join with us in order to remember their Lord.

Following the Lord's supper, there is a time for bible teaching from 11.45 -12.15.

Sunday 17.30 -18.00

This takes the form of a short Gospel talk lasting for approximately 15 minutes. The talk will be broadcast to our Facebook and Youtube accounts later in the evening. We have some hymn singing before the talk, to which you are welcome.

There is a creche facility available for pre-school children during this evening service.

Following the service tea and coffee are available and we enjoy chatting together.
